Frequently Asked Questions

Is Throneweld really free to play? +

Yes. Throneweld is a 100% free online strategy game. You can create an account, found your kingdom and play the full core game in your browser without paying anything. There is no purchase required to build, expand and conquer.

How do I start playing Throneweld? +

Just register a free account and you will instantly be given your first kingdom. From there you follow a short onboarding: gather resources, upgrade a few buildings, train your first units and send your first march. You can be playing this browser strategy game within a minute of signing up — no download needed.

What do I need to play? Are there browser requirements? +

Throneweld runs entirely in your web browser, so there is nothing to install. Any modern browser works — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge or their mobile equivalents. You just need a current browser version and an internet connection. Because it is a browser-based game, it runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS alike.

How do kingdoms work? +

Your realm starts as a single kingdom on a shared world map. Each kingdom has an economy based on food, wood, stone and gold, structures you can place and upgrade, research to develop, and armies you can train. As you grow you increase production, storage and military strength.

How do resources work? +

The four resources are food, wood, stone and gold. Production continues in real time while you are offline, up to your storage capacity. You spend resources on construction, upgrades, research, land development and troop training. Resource crates from inventory cannot raise a resource beyond its current storage cap.

How do armies work in Throneweld? +

You recruit three unit types — infantry, archers and cavalry — each with different attack, defense, speed and carrying capacity. Infantry are sturdy front-liners, archers deal ranged damage, and cavalry move fast and hit hard. Composing the right army for the job (raiding, defending or conquest) is a key strategic decision.

How do battles work? +

You send armies on timed marches to a target tile on the world map. When they arrive, combat is resolved automatically based on unit stats, army size and composition. You then receive a detailed battle report showing casualties on both sides and any loot your troops carried home. Marches take real time to travel, so timing and distance matter.

Is Throneweld a PvP game? +

Yes. Throneweld is a real-time MMO with genuine player-versus-player conflict on a persistent shared world. You can raid and conquer rival kingdoms run by real players, and they can target you in return. There is also PvE content such as barbarian camps for players who want to build up before entering the fray.

Can I join or form an alliance? +

Cooperation is central to the game. You can band together with other rulers to coordinate defense, share intelligence, launch joint campaigns and dominate regions of the map. A strong alliance is often the difference between survival and being overrun in a competitive war game.

Is there a mobile version of Throneweld? +

There is no separate app to download — because Throneweld is browser-based, it works on mobile out of the box. Open the game in your phone or tablet browser and manage your kingdom on the go. The interface is responsive and designed to work on both desktop and mobile screens.

How do I keep my account and data safe? +

Your progress is tied to your account and stored on our servers, so it is saved automatically and follows you across devices. Use a strong, unique password and keep your login details private. You control your account, and you can log out from any device at any time.

Does the game keep running when I log out? +

Yes. Throneweld is a persistent real-time world. Your resources keep accumulating (up to storage capacity) and any marches you have launched keep traveling while you are away. Many players check in a few times a day to manage their empire, though the game rewards regular attention during active conflicts.

What are village plots and where can I build? +

The Village screen contains square interior plots. Hover over an empty plot to reveal its construction control, then choose an available structure. Walls and the main gate are fixed perimeter defenses; they are upgraded directly and cannot be placed on ordinary interior plots.

What is beginner protection? +

New kingdoms begin with a temporary peace shield. It gives a ruler time to learn the interface, improve production, complete quests and prepare defenses. The protection has an expiration time, so check it before relying on it. Peace Shield items earned from missions can extend protection when used, up to a maximum total duration so shields cannot be stockpiled indefinitely.

How do research and troop tiers work? +

The Academy provides economy, military and defense research with levels and prerequisites. Military development and Barracks level help unlock stronger troop tiers. Research takes resources and real time, so it competes with construction and training for your economy.

What can I keep in Inventory? +

Realm Inventory stores speed-ups, food, wood, stone and gold crates, Peace Shields, timed boosts and utility items for the current realm. Resource crates respect storage capacity, speed-ups require an active timer, and utility items direct you to the relevant game screen. Permanent cosmetics and convenience unlocks stay in the Account Vault.

What are Crownmarks and Realm Seals? +

Crownmarks are an optional purchased currency used only for account-wide cosmetics and non-power conveniences. Realm Seals are earned from missions, achievements, events and login streaks, then redeemed for capped realm utilities through the Quartermaster. Crownmarks cannot buy troops, resources, shields or speed-ups.

How much does it cost, and are there pay-to-win mechanics? +

The game is free to play and uses fair-play monetization. Crownmarks buy permanent cosmetics and non-power conveniences only. Resources, troops, timer speed-ups, boosts and Peace Shields cannot be bought with money; realm utilities use Realm Seals earned through play. There are no randomized loot boxes, and every offer shows its exact contents.

What is Royal Stewardship and what does it include? +

Royal Stewardship is an optional $4.99 monthly or $49.99 annual convenience-and-cosmetics membership. It includes the visible Ember Crown Dragon, advanced completion notification controls, expanded planning and organization targets, longer report history, subscriber distinction and monthly permanent cosmetics. It never grants troops, resources, faster timers, combat power, protection or hidden intelligence.

Are incoming attack notifications free? +

Yes. Incoming hostile-march alerts, account-security warnings, payment receipts, emergency messages and realm-closure announcements remain available to free players. Subscribers can additionally configure convenience alerts for completed construction, research, training, gathering, caravans, outposts, quests, shields and alliance operations.

What are Chronicle Cards and Sigils? +

Chronicle Cards are earned in the realm through activities such as capturing outposts. Some cards are equippable Sigils that exchange one advantage for a visible penalty, so they create strategic choices instead of unrestricted power. Players can trade cards safely card-for-card in game; cards are not sold through randomized packs.

How do I get help or report a problem? +
