Reading battle reports to get better

Your battle reports are the best coach you have. After every march you get a report showing who won, the troops lost on each side, and the resources you looted. Read them carefully. If you won but lost more troops than the loot was worth, send a bigger or better-balanced army next time. If you lost, look at whether the defender out-numbered you, had a defence bonus, or countered your army type. Over time you will learn how much force a given target needs.
