Research guide: economy, military and defense priorities

Research is divided into economy, military and defense paths. Economy improvements compound when taken early because production bonuses work across many future hours. Military research matters when you are actively training and using troops, while defense research is valuable when your location or alliance role makes incoming attacks likely. Read the Academy requirement and prerequisite for each technology before saving resources. A good rule is to research the improvement you can immediately use: production before a growth phase, troop upgrades before a training phase, and defense before beginner protection ends.
